@62

@62: Educated, Defensible Vote is a non-profit, non-partisan voter's education campaign targeted to the youth for the Philippine National Elections.

The campaign, launched in 2003 in preparation for the 2004 National Elections and initiated by Politeia (a student political party at the University of Asia and the Pacific - UA&P), was a synergy of efforts from various universities, mostly from UA&P and De La Salle University (DLSU). Today our volunteers come from the UA&P. Our vision is to fortress among our peers the value in casting a well-founded, well-informed vote; a vote we can defend.

@62 was coined after the youth percentage of the voting population in 2004 - the youth makes up 62% of the voting population. Thus our efforts are focused on bringing together our peers across classes in view of our advocacy: an educated, defensible vote.

For the 2007 Elections, we will be circulating @62: Educated, Defensible Vote 2007 Elections Fact Book. It is a factual compilation of the profiles and platforms of candidates, their corresponding parties, and the party-lists. The fact book also includes articles on relevant election issues. The content of which are neutral and research-based; the form is audience-friendly. The fact books are due for circulation on 01 May 2007 in coffee shops, fast food chains, schools, and offices in the Greater Manila Area.
